As a Marketing Specialist you'll perform strategic activities associated with the planning and implementation of field marketing efforts aligned to SAS' overall sales and marketing strategy. You'll work both individually and collaboratively to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that includes integrated digital campaigns for lead generation, lead acceleration, brand awareness and customer retention. Sprinkled in will be some regional and national events, which must have a digital component to maximize effectiveness. You'll be tasked with turning up the digital volume for SAS.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Leading marketing efforts designed to accelerate revenue and productivity for the field through an integrated approach aligned to the focus areas of the business unit, industry or key initiative.
Developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns which are comprised of lead generation, lead acceleration, awareness and retention elements intended to maximize a multi-channel approach.
Providing campaign planning and strategy associated to a topic or industry by developing the program details, designing and executing on the recruitment strategy, and communicating the effort accordingly.
Creating and curating content that will be used in marketing campaigns, social media outreach and placement on .
Defining the appropriate marketing channels, elements and strategies associated with marketing goals of the campaign.
Working as a key liaison to multiple organizations across SAS, including worldwide strategy, field strategy, sales, corporate communications, customer interaction center, etc.
Working as an individual contributor and collaborator on event planning, production and logistics.
Communicating campaign results, evaluating overall success and ROI.
Tracking and maintaining budgetary responsibilities.
Keeping abreast of new company product development and marketing strategies.
Remaining knowledgeable of SAS core competencies and related industry trends by reading journals and attending professional conferences.
Performing other duties, as assigned.
Essential:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related discipline.
5 years of experience in Marketing, or related function in the technology industry.
Additional:
Demonstrated understanding of marketing concepts/processes related to area of assignment.
Strong track record of understanding of digital media and marketing.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently or part of a team.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Demonstrated understanding of marketing communication concepts/functions and software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HTML).
Ability to understand and translate complex technical information to internal/external audiences.
Creativity and a willingness to experiment.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to build strategic working relationships
Ability to travel
Preferences:
1-3 years of experience with social media tools and techniques
Active involvement in social media networks: blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
5 years of prior business-to-business (B2B) marketing experience in a technology company.
Experience in the use of systems for marketing programs.
Experience leading internal communications activities to promote marketing campaigns within a company.
