As an Office Administrator for the Health and Life Sciences sales team you will provide administrative support to department managers and/or staff as needed on a daily basis to ensure needs are met.
This individual will be responsible for the following:
o Maintains calendars and coordinates schedules; makes appointments and travel arrangements; assists guests
o Coordinates and arranges meetings and dinners
o Acts as department liaison; distributing appropriate information to, and continually communicating with, staff
o Composes and types/enters documents; may take dictation or notes, possibly of a technical nature
o Performs general office duties; such as, shipping materials, duplicating and faxing documents; ordering supplies and equipment; arranging for equipment repair, etc.
o Prepares paper and on-line requests (e.g., for purchases, reproduction, checks, and expenses)
o Serves as point of contact for internal and/or external guests
o Assists in performing specialized administrative duties related to the business unit
o Assists other members of the Administrative staff as needed
OFFICE LOCATION: This position will be located in the SAS World Headquarters office in Cary, NC. No telecommuting is permitted. This is a five-month contract.
Essential
o Associate's degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration or related field
o 4 years of general office experience of which 3 or more were devoted to supporting management-level positions
o Experience supporting multiple staff/team members
o High proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and WebEx
o Experience with calendar management, meeting and event coordination, travel planning, and expense reporting and reconciliation
o Experience attending meetings and capturing notes/action items
o Work location of Cary, NC
o Work schedule is 9:00am - 5:00pm; ability to occasionally work before and/or after normal hours
Additional
o Excellent knowledge of office procedures and protocol
o Strong problem-solving, written/verbal/interpersonal communication and organizational skills
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
o Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment with limited supervision
o Ability to multi-task; strong time-management skills
Preferences
o Experience with SAS internal systems and procedures.
o Experience supporting multiple staff/team members within a Sales Environment
o Experience within the health & life sciences industry
o Experience with SharePoint
