Position Information
At WakeMed, the Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary provides appropriate secretarial support to patients/families and professional staff to ensure an efficient customer oriented practice. The Nurse Aide/Clinical Secretary provides clerical and nurse aide support for the physician practice by processing and disseminating information; interpreting and transcribing physicians' orders; and providing general secretarial duties. This position ensures the availability and completeness of the patient/outpatient medical record. The Clinical Secretary/Nurse Aide understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.
Experience Requirements
:
Prefer minimum of one year experience in a health care related setting. Basic medical diagnosis. Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
Education Required
:
High School graduate or equivalent or successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Certificate through the North Carolina Community College career and technical education pathway program (minimum age of 18) required. Prefer two years additional secretarial or medical office assistant education or college courses in Business.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
:
Current license with no substantiated findings as a Nurse Aide I (North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services) required. Nurse Aide II (North Carolina Board of Nursing) preferred.
Hours of Work

secretary 6:00pm - 6:30am; CNA 6:45pm - 7:15am
